    I've been looking for a Jazzmaster for awhile, and one popped up on Reverb, a Candy Apple Red MIJ 60's reissue. Well the price looked right, so I bought it, and it got here last night. Funny thing, I never asked if it came with a case, and it didn't, not even a gig bag.


      Hi there, I've found a 1964 CAR Jazzmaster for sale, but don't know for sure if it's all original, especially the finish can you please.
    First, go all fancy and get an AM Pro II in the Mystic Surf Green finish and get it painted to Candy Red Apple by a Luthier. Second, try to look for a Noventa Fiesta Red jazzmaster and try to look for white pickup covers, sacrificing ofc the "jazzmaster" sound for something more modern.

    What pickups do you have in there? I was given the pickups by a friend on After a while, the assembly split on one of the pickups. I emailed Ken Rose at Rose Pickups and he fixed them at no cost despite being swamped with orders at the time.
      I really like the Candy Apple Red on the Squier VM's, and honestly think it's one of the best renditions of the color ever put on a Jag or JM.
    So, I have this Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster in candy apple red with gold anodized pickguard and black P90's. I just changed the knobs to witchhats and it looks great. I want to change the pickguard colour as well, what do you guys think will go best with the candy apple red? Black. P90s? If they're Jazzmaster pickups those aren't even close to P90s.

  • What jazzmaster is worth getting? Must have maple neck! My MIJ Jazzmaster in Old Candy Apple Red. In the right lighting Old Candy Apple looks pretty close to Oxblood. Here’s another pic with different lighting. The block inlays and bound neck are such a nice touch. TVL Jazzmasters are the GOAT of modern Jazzmasters. Welcome to the club!   • Though saying that; I know this is the offset forum, but have you thought about making a Stratocaster? I've heard of this really cool finish they briefly came in in the early 's - I think they only ever used it on the Squier Fat Strat; I've never seen it on any other model of guitar from any company. It was called "Silver Sparkle".

    I'd say that the Guitar Mill Jags at the top are silver or blended flakes over a colour. The negative aspects of using coloured flakes/glitter instead of silver include less dynamic response to light (but maybe you want them to be subtler anyway), and difficulty in getting the flake colour to properly match the paint colour that they sit on top of.
